User Data Deletion Instructions

CodeBitel Messaging is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023), and Meta Platform Policies. This page provides clear, step-by-step instructions on how users, WhatsApp contacts, and business clients can request the deletion of their personal data from our platform.
1. For End-Users (WhatsApp Contacts)
If you have exchanged messages with a business using CodeBitel Messaging and wish to have your contact details, message history, or consent records removed:
Option A: Request Deletion via Email
- Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line:
Data Deletion Request. - Include the phone number (with country code, e.g.,
+91...) you used to communicate on WhatsApp, and if applicable, the name of the business you interacted with. - We will verify ownership by sending a one-time verification message to that WhatsApp number.
- Once confirmed, we will delete or anonymize your contact record, messages, and associated data within 30 calendar days.
Option B: Immediate Messaging Opt-Out (STOP)
Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, or OPT OUT to any WhatsApp message received from our system. This immediately halts any further marketing or automated messages to your number and updates your opt-out status in the system.
2. How to Remove the App and Data via Facebook / Meta Settings
If you are a business user or administrator who connected your Meta / WhatsApp Business Account through Facebook Login or Embedded Signup, you can remove the CodeBitel Messaging application and revoke permissions at any time:
- Log in to your Facebook profile and navigate to Settings & Privacy > Settings.
- In the left menu, select Apps and Websites (or Business Integrations).
- Find CodeBitel Messaging in the list of active applications.
- Click Remove next to the app name.
- In the confirmation popup, you may also choose to allow Meta to delete any posts, videos, or events published on your behalf, then confirm Remove.
- To ensure all historical data stored on our servers is erased, follow Step 1 above or email [email protected] with your Meta Business Account ID / WhatsApp Phone Number ID.
3. For Workspace Owners & Business Users
Administrators of CodeBitel Messaging workspaces can manage and delete data directly inside the platform:
- Deleting an Individual Contact: Navigate to Contacts & Consent, locate the contact, and click the Delete button. This permanently purges the contact record, conversation history, and messages.
- Disconnecting a WhatsApp Number: Navigate to WhatsApp Number and click Disconnect. This immediately purges the stored access token from our database and unregisters webhooks.
- Full Workspace Deletion: Email [email protected] requesting workspace termination. All workspace contacts, campaigns, message logs, and account profiles will be permanently erased within 30 days.
4. What Data Is Deleted and What Is Retained
